Supporting digital access for young people

As the new school year approaches, thousands of young people in Belgium are getting ready to learn, create, and connect. But not every student has access to a computer at home, something that has become essential for education today.

That's why organizations like Digital for Youth are so important. They collect, refurbish, and distribute laptops to schools and youth organizations, making sure that every child and young person has the tools they need to participate fully in digital learning. By extending the lifespan of technology, they not only help bridge the digital gap but also contribute to a more sustainable future.

At POLO, we are happy to support this mission by donating laptops and computers to Digital for Youth, which will soon find a second life in the hands of children and students.

As architects, designers and urban planners, we see every day how our profession has shifted towards digital tools. Access to technology is no longer a luxury, but a foundation for learning, creativity, and opportunity. We believe every child deserves the same foundation.

We encourage other companies to join us and consider giving their unused devices a second life. Supporting initiatives like these is not only a matter of social responsibility, but also of ecological responsibility. Here are a few organizations making a real difference:

  • Digital for Youth - refurbishing and distributing laptops to schools and youth organizations.
  • Weerts Personal Computers for Education (WPC) - providing laptops and internet access to children from vulnerable backgrounds.
  • City of Brussels - repurposing IT gear to support local digital inclusion projects.
