Renewed 'De Blauwe Zaal' in DE SINGEL has reopened

De Blauwe Zaal

Phase 1 of the renovation works in DE SINGEL has officially come to an end. Our POLO.Interior team refreshed De Blauwe Zaal - one of the main performance halls within the arts centre - with renewed tapestry and matching blue chairs.

DE SINGEL in Antwerp brings together music, theatre, dance and architecture. It serves both as a stage for international productions and as a workplace for artists and students from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. The building itself is a modernist landmark, originally designed by architect Léon Stynen and later expanded by Stéphane Beel. Its layered history reflects a continuous dialogue between tradition and innovation, making DE SINGEL not only a hub for the performing arts but also an architectural icon in its own right.

On Thursday 11 September, the renovated hall will be festively reopened with a concert by Il Giardino Armonico and the NFM Choir, featuring works by Mozart and Beethoven.

The delivery of the Phase 2 is scheduled for summer 2026.
